Brother Sam Taught Me To Dance

Some years back, when I was living in Atlanta, I received a telephone call on a Saturday afternoon from someone who asked, "is this Sam Moore?" For some unknown reason I said, "yes it is, and I'm a black man trapped in a white man's body."

Well, I could tell the caller was down on his knees in laughter. He identified himself as one of the former sax players for Sam & Dave, and was trying to locate Sam. We talked for damn near thirty minutes...I had all kinds of questions for him. I knew Sam and I shared the same last name, and I don't know why I said that, but I'm glad I did. Great conversation.

The other day, I received an email from the guy who wrote the Wiki on Sam & Dave. Strange, hey?

Anyway, my boy Sam is truly a Soul Man. I had all their albums.

If nothing else, you will tap your feet.

Hawt Damn, but that's nice for a Sunday night.

Politics stinks all ta hell and back, but good music transcends and trumps everything.

thanks!
