I had four different VWs back in the seventies when I was stationed in Germany. Economical but I just never liked to drive them. My wife loved 'em...easy for her to park.
Sweet. My older brother had an identical blue '66, except for the sidewalls. He called it George, and it was a fiend. Mine was a red '73, and I didn't call it anything. But I did bust out all of the plastic seats fucking under the Skidaway Narrows Bridge.
