Doing A little Jarring

I have about 70 jars "put up" so far. My goal is at least 700. We've also frozen so much I'm gonna have to get a larger freezer.

I also have a new source for "burns blue beads clear"...it could be worse.

I'm familiar with the product of your former source. Yowza!

Right on. Ball jars in the root cellar are an extra level of protection against most disasters.

You got me beat as I have a late start here on the Worst Coast getting the garden in. However, the growing season out here will go far into the fall. So I'll be canning tomatoes almost to Halloween.

Home canned vegetables put a smile on my face.

You are ahead of me...I have about thirty jars put up but have a canner of black eyed peas to do this week end as well as a gallon of cherry tomatoes. Got my first ripe cantaloupe this morning. Better tasting than I expected.

Hope the fall garden gets me enough pole beans that I can put up maybe forty pints or so and hope to have enough beets to pickle as well as some turnips and turnip greens.

My black eyed peas and okra are still blooming and should do so until frost if I can keep the gotdam bugs off them. Continuing fight
