You Should Destroy It

If The Brier Patch scares you beyond belief, mentally scars you, and makes you want to destroy your computer…you probably should. I would suggest throwing it out of a third floor window…I’ve done it before; and it works every time.

Following is an email I received.

Dear Mr(s) Moore, I am writing to inform you that recently your site scared me beyond belief. My name is also Sam Moore and being an MSN user, I was searching for a display picture. A simple noose was what I was searching for when this happened when I searched for the word noose: As you can see your site is the first result and was perfect for a display picture. When I followed the link and found the address needless to say I was mentally scarred and for a brief moment destroying my computer was seeming a good idea. Just a quick note to tell you this and how you made my day enjoyable, but at the same time making me appreciate the value of life in this small world. Thanks for taking the time to read my e-mail.

Love Sam Moore

P.s. Are you a male or female Sam Moore, in either case wanna meet up for a drink sometime? MSN me if interested, or e-mail.

And NO, I don’t want to meet up for a drink anytime.

Cyberspace is fascinating, don’t you think?

Quick Turnaround

I drove 8 hours outbound yesterday, and 8 hours inbound today. I was gone for about 29 hours.

Was it worth it? Yes.
Would I do it again? Yes, but not tomorrow.
Is my ass worn out? Yes.

I’ll tell you; the drive on I-40 from North Carolina to Tennessee, and back, is beautiful.

The Smokey Mountains are one of a kind.

Anyway, in that short period of time I went to a “Jazz on the Lawn” deal, which turned out to be a “Salsa on the Lawn” deal, with some really really “hot” dancing…if you know what I mean.

I had a magnificent dinner and conversations with some old friends.

Sometimes, spur of the moment decisions are necessary. I didn’t decide to go until midnight Saturday.

Life is good.

Too Hot For A Fire

I took care of this problem today. I had to blow off this to do it, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

It was my intention to blow the fucker up (seriously...and anyone who knows me, knows I would do it), but I backed out at the last minute. Also, I got a little folding money for not doing it. It wasn't about the money...it was just too damn hot today for a fire.

Anyway, it is done (or not done) now...time to move forward. It has been a long time since I haven't owned an American vehicle. As much of a patriot as I am...I will not buy shit just because it is made in America.

Sad, but true.

The Next Town Over

I dropped my wife off at her office this morning around 8:15, after I dropped my car off for some routine service. Within five blocks, I’d been propositioned twice by some skanky looking crack whores who called out, “hey baby, I’m working”.

That is unusual for where I live. Crack Whores in small towns? Where have I been?

If there was ever a case for drive-by shootings…

Sunday Afternoon Pot

Generally, on Saturday or Sunday, I cook a major meal; the kind of production that makes my kitchen resemble the aftermath of a natural disaster similar to the eruption of Vesuvius. I’m telling you, I can trash a kitchen.

Anyway, not this weekend. I’ve spent all my time doing network backup stuff, tweaking my firewall, cleaning (out) my garage, reading, and doing patrols with Stretch. Actually, it has been a quite relaxing weekend.

Last night we had curried grilled / roasted vegetables, curried filet minion wrapped in bacon, over rice. Some good wine…some good bread…some good conversation…and, some good leftovers. Killer!

Today, I’m making curried pasta. I started with a tomato base, threw the remainder of the vegetables in, and added some fresh yellow peppers and herbs from the garden.

I have no idea how this will taste, but it smells damn good.

We’ll see.

It Is Not About Guantanamo Bay

I'm sick and tired of listening to the Left whine and moan about Guantanamo Bay. They just don't get it.

I think we must do whatever it takes to win, period. It is not about Guantanamo Bay, and it is not about our left, or right, our legal system, or politics. It is about the survival of values. The good.

The people of radical Islam have demonstrated over and over again...they have no values. All they want is to kill in the name of their GOD. Why is that? If America were not the Great Satan, another country would be. Radical Islam will always have a Devil to fight. Always. They feed off that Devil. They need that Devil. They are the problem, and that problem needs to be solved or eliminated.

The rules have changed, and we didn't change 'em. They did, and they started this mess, and we should've seen it coming...but we didn't...but now we know.

We must adapt, and play by their rules, since they have no respect for ours. Sad, but true.

Remember, they take no prisoners...at least we do. They would've killed 'em all in the beginning.

The basic freedoms our forefathers fought for are now challenged in ways they couldn't envision. We must survive at all costs. Which means...we must change, and adapt, ...or lose.

A question: If you were freezing to death, and needed to start a fire, and the only fuel you had was a Bible...would you burn it?

I would, it's just a book.

I bet the Islamofacists, the Left, and the MSM would burn a Koran...Hypocrites!!

Love And Hate And Chicken

About eight years ago, I awoke one morning and couldn’t stand the taste of chicken. I absolutely hated it. I could not eat it, and I have no idea why. Maybe a dream I don’t remember.

About three weeks ago, I awoke and had a craving for chicken. No recollection of a dream, but since then, I’ve eaten boo coo chicken. Baked, broiled, fried, grilled…every way but raw. I love it.

Funny how stuff like this happens.

This Group Was Happy...

Another Stupid Quote:

...The prosecutor's team was first spotted making merry at the bar, and then retreated to a private dining room behind the bar that has no door...

How in the hell did they get into a room with no door?

5 Things I Miss About My Childhood

My friend Zonker just slapped me.

The rules:

* Remove the first name in the list of previous victims (see below).
* Bump everyone up one place.
* Add your blog's name in the #5 spot.

Previously slapped by this meme:

* Feisty Repartee
* Chaos Theory
* Wired JAFA
* Thunder And Roses
* The Brier Patch

I choose to slap the shit out of...

* My Internet Chic
* Dax Montana
* Joe Chew
* Sideshow Blues
* Dash Riprock

Here we go:

1. My first dog...was a huge learning experience for me. I believed his survival was 100 % dependant on me. He taught me many valuable lessons.

2. The comfort and wisdom I received from my parents when I was confused.

3. Learning how to tie knots and "do" math. I can't tell you how these are related...but they are.

4. The sled my Grandfather made for me. It was the fastest in the neighborhood.

5. No stress...I don't recall being stressed about anything,,,ever!

Wooden Pot Seat

I came home the other day, walked into the bathroom to take a leak, and damn...I now have a wooden pot seat. What's going on with that? Why do people have wooden pot seats? Is it a temperature thing? Wood gets cold, right?

I have no idea.

I Loves My Garden

If I have to kill every squirrel and rabbit in the neighborhood to defend my garden, I will.

The last several days, I’ve had no targets, or as the captain in Das Boot said, “We need orders.” This all changed today; my backyard was a target rich environment; I killed all that showed themselves. 100 %.

My gun is a one-shot one-pumper, and I’ve gotten good at speed loading and shooting.

On a seemingly related note, I had a conversation with a woman tree hugger, who gave me up and down the road for shooting squirrels and bunny rabbits.

I told her,” If I were you, I wouldn’t let your dog out, cause I don’t see so well at night.”

That pissed her off.
